This is an area of astounding beauty and is almost completely unspoiled. Loch Lomond is the main part of this area, one of Scotland's National parks. The park has its main centre here on the south end at Balloch. The main road to the western highlands and the islands runs up the west of the loch whilst the east side is dominated by Scotland's most southerly Munro, a Ben named after the loch below it. see our maps.

Loch Lomond National Park Accommodation

There are many things to do and see here. Follow the links from the various pages such as our fishing links, to see the variety. Travelling to this area is easy. Amazingly this beautiful National park is only thirty minutes from the centre of Glasgow and there are trains regularly running to Balloch.

Glasgow Airport is only twenty minutes by car from Balloch and a little more for Drymen or Luss. There is no Direct route from either the city of Stirling or Edinburgh, however trains and buses do connect through the Glasgow stations.

The links below lead to the main population centres and have photographs and explanations of those towns or in the most cases villages and hamlets. There is not a road all the way round Loch Lomond, The main road runs up the west side and there are numerous ferries which cross over to the islands, Mainly from Balloch, Luss, Ardlui and Balmaha areas.
