Accommodation in Ardlui is limited in that it is a very small
village on the North end of the loch. However it is a
great venue for climbers and walkers alike, particularly as it
has a rail link and is on the main road from Glasgow to Crianlarich.
There is also a very popular venue, namely the Drovers Inn where
the large bear in the entrance might surprise you.
From here
you might want to fish on the loch or on one of the higher
lochans in the mountains nearby. The east of the Arrochar Alps
are accessible from the main road. There is a ferry from here to
the other side of the loch.

Mountains
There numerous mountains to be
climbed in this area, making Ardlui the ideal stopping off place
for that weekend mountaineering or walking break. It should be
remembered however that Scottish mountains can be dangerous in
summer as well as the winter months if you do not have the
appropriate equipment.
It is not always easy to by
forgotten items at the point where you might want to walk or
climb. Ardlui is no exception. Always source your equipment
before embarking upon your journey.
